To build a business you should become a recognized expert in your field and not a person who sells something. You will give customers useful information and then they have a need for your products. Also give information on your website, to help people solve problems. They may go onto tweet about your service and that is the best marketing you can get. Do not just sell something on your website.
With reference to starting a conversation use Twitter, Facebook and other Social Media channels. Do not just push a message out, try to interact with other businesses and potential customers. Start a conversation with two or more people. Comment on other Tweets from restaurants, shops and companies because your Followers can see this too.
Another mistake is that everybody wants to get 100,000 Followers, but that is not the right way to build your social platform. Build a small stage. Once again – relationships take time. Retweet others – not just posts you are featured in. Acknowledge criticism and reply positively – ask them what you can change and how you can change that. When you start a conversation and help potential customers with problems, others can see how you dealt with that situation. But be aware – you are always marketing your business, with every comment and every post. If you comment something wrong, you will lose Followers and potential customers.
