After I read the book ‘UnMarketing', written by Scott Stratten I realized that these shops can benefit by offering customers new services. Stores offer customers the opportunity to keep their cards in store, that way when they come back again, they can let you know they have a card and get their discounts. I think this advice from Scott Stratten should be utilized in every store, when they want to offer a good service and win new customers.
In Austria I have never heard of that service. So when you read my blog, give them a try, no matter where your shop is located.
